The Story County Justice Center (the
"new Courthouse")
is located at 1315 South B Avenue, Nevada, Iowa 50201. This facility
houses
the District Court, Clerk of Court, County Attorney, and Story County
Sheriff.
The complex is located about two blocks north of U.S. Highway 30 (exit
158)
and two blocks west of South 19th Street. The District Court courtrooms
are
on the second floor. The District Associate Court, Associate Juvenile
Court,
and Magistrate courtrooms are on the first floor.
The Story County Administrative Building
(the "old Courthouse")
is located at 900 6th Street, Nevada, Iowa 50201. This facility houses
the
Board of Supervisors, the Recorder, the Auditor, the Treasurer, and
various
other county administrative offices.
The Ames City Hall is located at 515
Clark Avenue, Ames,
Iowa 50010. This facility houses most City of Ames offices and also
houses
a District Associate Court Courtroom and the small claims and simple
misdemeanor
divisions of the Clerk of Court. The District Associate Court courtroom
is
on the second floor at the top of the stairs to the left.
The Federal Building in Des Moines
is located at 210 Walnut
Street. This facility houses many United States administrative offices
and
is generally the location for meetings of creditors in bankruptcy
proceedings
for the Central Division of the Southern District of Iowa.
The Federal Courthouse is located at
110 East Court Avenue,
Des Moines, Iowa 50309. This facility houses the United States District
Court
and the Bankruptcy Court for the Central Division of the Southern
District
of Iowa.
The Federal Building in Fort Dodge
(the U.S. Post Office)
is located between First Avenue South and Second Avenue South on South
8th
Street. The Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Iowa holds
hearings
and meetings of creditors on the third floor of this building.
